How to fix my PC?

Though there are assortments of means and ways to improve or fix slow computer problem, however most of the known troubleshooting steps can be found easily on various WebPages. I have tried to include few of the important and the one that are not usually people perform. People usually question- How to fix my PC?

Stop few background or unnecessary services: - Open your task manager and check the CPU usage of your PC, if it is above normal there is something wrong. There may be many such background services in your PC that are always running while they are not needed all the time rather they are required for some very selected operations and when we need them they can be called easily. Stop them all and if your PC faces freezing or slow PC issue it will make a big difference for sure.

Pagefile: - In contemporary operating systems, counting all Windows, application programs and many system processes for all time reference memory using virtual memory addresses which are mechanically interpret to real (Random Access Memory) addresses by machine’s hardware part. Merely central part of the operating system kernel avoids and process without it, i.e. without this address conversion and make use of real memory addresses in a straight line. This Virtual Memory is busy all the time, even when the memory mandatory by all running processes does not go beyond the random memory installed in the PC. Now it’s clear that if a virtual memory is appropriately high, it will process different processes easily and efficiently. So try to set it as per your RAM’s capacity. Usually it’s 1.5 times of your RAM.

Reduce some visual effects from your PC: - All modern windows operating systems are very rich on graphical effects. If you lower them down that won’t make a big difference in windows usual functionality but it increases speed in windows and its corresponding functions. It’s very easy to perform i.e. to reduce some visual effects from your PC. This is also a helpful step to get rid of a slow computer problem.
Right click on my computer (computer in case windows 7) and go to the properties windows. In XP it takes you directly to the various settings of your computer while in windows 7 you need to select advance settings. When clicked on it, select performance tab and click settings again. Now you may see there are various sorts of settings there. Choose as per your need. I suggest if you don’t need various visual effects your can opt for the option “Choose the best performance”. The difference can be seen clearly.

Use an antivirus program essentially- An antivirus program keeps your PC protected and keep it away from any kind of infections. If you are not using an antivirus program which is updated or functioning well, there are chances that you might be caught anytime. It is very risky to leave your computer without an antivirus program. It is the most common of all the possible causes of slow PC.

Clear all temporary files and folders from your PC: - Using a PC continuously for long time and not clearing the temporary files, which reduces overall PC’s performance. I suggest clearing them all with windows disc cleanup utility or you may try any good computer cleaner program to remove them.

How to fix my PC with a PC Cleaner?

What approach do you follow when you encounter any problem with your PC? Do you diagnose the actual cause behind the problem or at once you start searching online and fixing the issue directly. Most of the PC users apply the later approach and the outcome does come as we expect it to be. In my own experience whenever you come across any PC related problem the first thing you should do is to know the root cause behind the issue and then try any fix. It is a fact that knowing about the problem or real causes behind the found problem makes it easier to resolve.
Let’s talk about the major PC related issues that very often influence a PC and makes computer’s life uneasy. I am writing down the major problems that can be faced by a normal PC user. The details below will certainly help you to resolve your concern to fix my PC problems.

Major PC related problems
1.       Slow PC- One of the most frequent issues. 80% of total PC users face this problem daily.
2.       Registry related issues- A major concern for all windows users.
3.       Hardware faults- An exceptional issue as there is no alternate and we only need to replace the affected part.
4.       Memory related issues (low disk space) - If memory is not sufficient enough slow PC related problems can be easily experienced.
5.       DLL file missing issues- dynamic link library files it produces DLL file missing error. Replacing damaged or lost file with newer one resolves the issue mostly.
6.       PC freezing- This issue can be found due to device driver and incompatible hardware.
7.       High CPU usage- If a particular application or process is taking too much CPU usage. Usually it happens if a virus program is residing in your PC.
8.       Unexpected shutting down of the PC- Virus is one of the possible causes. Also damaged or bad drive can cause shutting down problem in any PC.
9.       Slow startup problem- Too many programs are listed in windows startup list.
10.   Many alarming error messages due to infection in the PC.
11.   Installation related problem- Mainly due to if windows installer is corrupt.
12.   Any attached device not working in the PC- Mainly if corresponding drivers are missing.
13.   Any particular service is blocked in windows- Due to virus or service dependency feature.
14.   Security related issues such as data threat and its protection-

 PC optimizing steps

  1. Defrag your system after a certain time or regular interval it helps and speed up your PC to faster access the data across the drive.
  2. Run Disk cleanup utility at least once in 10 days.
  3. Run sfc /scannow utility to repair system files that are broken or damaged.
  4. Remove some unwanted entries from windows startup list with the help of msconfig utility. It makes startup faster as windows only loads essential files or entries during it boot time.
  5. Increase size of pagefile or virtual memory- Applications such as games or MS office etc are very heavy programs and they need greater memory space to load into the memory. Here virtual memory plays an important role and windows uses hard drive space to load such heavy program into memory.
  6. Reduce visual effects to increase processing speed of your slow PC.

Speed UP Windows XP Performance

<a href="http://www.linkedtube.com/OlZFBvweJ1oe06d9289a86f25cecc59bc34575fdbad.htm">LinkedTube</a>
Still days are not gone for windows XP and it is still being used by the maximum number of PC users today. Though I have heard a piece of bad news few times back that Microsoft has stopped providing technical support for windows XP users, yet there are many sources you can get help from. It is perhaps due to marking strategy and new releases first windows vista and later windows 7. Anyway the market for windows XP system is still at maximum. Also the issues with windows XP are also known. We usually hear from many pc users how to speed up my windows XP performance, my xp is running very slow, how to booster performance in windows XP and many other identical issues pertaining to windows XP performance and speed.

I have found that approximately all the issues in windows XP are pertaining to its performance be it a slow PC issue, freezing or many other errors as well. Also more or less all the issues revolve around the speed and performance. Though windows xp registry is also one of the most affected parts in any windows system, but still it also affects total performance of the PC. Let me tell you the very few important aspects of windows XP that get affected usually and make some grave consequences to the system.

Registry: - Usually if anything goes wrong with any windows XP system it reflects in its registry for sure in 99% occasions. The registry is central system of any windows operating system and it gets affected easily. A registry always needs to be integrated and intact; it is only then possible that the Xp system will be working fine. There are two ways to repair or correct registry. You may do it manually however this is a risky method and it may damage the registry. Another method is to get it repaired by any good registry cleaner program. The later is safer and involver lesser risk as compare to change or repair it manually.

Any infection might be in your PC: - Any kind of infection can harm your PC to any extent. There are possibilities that a virus can stop all the operations in your PC and you don’t have any option but to format it. There are many sort of infections can be found easily online through various means. Majors of them are spyware, adware, malware, Trojan, worm etc. A good updated antivirus program is the best solution for this issue. I also strongly suggest browse safely always. The internet is the main culprit behind this problem.

Bad or poor hardware specification in the PC: - Hardware is also a big issue behind a slow PC. Also there is no alternative for any bad or corrupted hardware unlike software part. If any hardware gone damaged in your PC you are bound to replace with a good and working piece of new hardware.

Many unneeded programs installed in your PC: - This is another aspect of slow PC issue. If you have too many programs installed in your PC they might create issue like slow PC in your system. I suggest to remove those all unnecessary programs from your PC in order to clean your XP system.

Computer Running Slow?

Why my computer is slowing down this is the concern from all PC users. Most of the time when a PC becomes slow a normal PC users starts troubleshooting with different option or steps available offline or online. Technically this is not the best approach to fix slow PC problem. Rather ideally the approach should be scientific so that we may come to know the conclusion or may fix the problem efficiently, effectively and in least time. In a good practice if you encounter any PC related issue it is necessarily advisable to diagnose the issue before going for any resolution. Without knowing about the actual cause behind any problem it is very difficult to fix the problem. For an instance if there appears a message on the screen about any DLL file missing- it is not necessary that the DLL file is really missing, sometime it can be displayed due to virus infection. So real or root cause analysis is must before applying any PC solution.

On the contrary if you have come to know about the root cause of the issue you have encountered it will be very easy to fix it. I rather should say knowing the reason behind is half done of the problem. There were many instances where I noticed a user is running an antivirus program when a driver seemed to be corrupted. It is apparent that here this option won’t work. Similarly there are multiple example of fixing incorrectly to a problem.  Generally when your PC runs slow many factors might be responsible for this.

Faulty or incompatible hardware- If there is any problem with hardware parts it will badly affect your PC’s performance for sure.

Spyware or other infections are in your PC- One of the most dangerous item present in any system. They not only can crease performance problem but also gather personal information from your system without your knowledge.
Hard drive is full and less than 15% of total space left in it- It is advisable to leave at least 15% blank of your hard drive space. Less than this threshold you cannot also run defragment of the drive.

Low memory- Memory is an integrated part of any PC system. If Memory (I refer RAM here) is not sufficient enough to run huge applications like any gaming software the whole system will be very slow.
Startup is full and many items are listed there- If startup is too much packed windows takes longer time than expected consequently leading to slow PC.

Disk is fragmented – Defrag your system regularly.
Huge amount of temporary files and other redundant data are in the system- Temporary files are created during windows various operations but they are not required later. Remove them and save space and performance.

CPU usage is high due to n number of reasons – A virus can cause this issue mostly. Also some security programs may also be responsible for this.

Windows registry is corrupt with malicious items- registry items such as program shortcut, file path folder, empty keys and other uninstalled remnants can cause slow performance problem in your system.
Poor Security Software that is stealing system resources
High graphics or animation can be a possible slow down such as in vista and windows 7.

How to Make Computer Run Faster

Fixing slow pc is not impossible task, rather it needs just few important things to know that why a slow pc issue occurs in our PCs. I would suggest you to diagnose the real offender behind this issue and then follow the analogous solution. Trying many things without knowing the real cause behind the issue is absolutely wastage of time and resources. Thus always diagnose the issue and then get it fix either manually or with the help of a software program such as a computer cleaner program.

Use a good antivirus or security program always: - Virus, spyware, worm, Trojan horse etc are the most dangerous security threat programs for any PC. If there is any infection in your PC it will certainly not only affect the Internet speed but also may stop it and sometime harm the entire computer system. Using a good antivirus program resolves this issue officially. However I cannot ignore the fact that sometime we may need to eliminate some malicious entries manually as well. Apart from this you may also use any good PC optimizer program to remove entries from your system especially from the windows registry.

Firewall programs: - Firewall programs are very essential for security purpose in your PC. They help us to protect our PCs from any external infection. Sometime few firewall programs are there that resist many entries or items from running in your PC. In this case you may lower down the security settings of the firewall programs. This will certainly help to get better performance and overall Internet speed.

Increase pagefile size: - It is usually says if random access memory is not sufficient windows needs a virtual memory to run the applications that are very heavy to process. Let me tell you a fact that virtual memory needs all the time even if random access memory is sufficient to run the applications. So verify the virtual memory size and increase it if it’s not set to the appropriate level.

Unused programs lessen your PC’s speed and performance: - A very common habit among many PC users, to install any program use it once or twice and leave it installed in the system. If you are one of them so try check your “add and remove” folder (program and features in vista and windows 7) and see the list of such programs. If you find any such programs remove them and enhance the overall speed and performance of your PC.  You may also sue a good computer cleaner program to eliminate them.

Stop few background or unnecessary services:- Open your task manager and check the CPU usage of your PC, if it is above normal there is something wrong. There can be many such background services in your PC that are always running. Stop them all and if your PC faces freezing or slow PC issue it will make a big difference for sure.

Start-up overload- Startup of any windows system usually filled with many programs and they all get loaded in memory while windows start. You may check your startup by simply typing msconfig in strum windows and open it. Now select startup tab and you will see numbers of programs are listed there. These all programs are not necessary for windows normal startup but they all get loaded when it starts. You may uncheck partial or all the programs listed over here. Either you can uncheck one by one or just disable all. Please note do not uncheck your wireless connection entry if you are using it.

Slow PC performance

Slow PC issue can be possible due to number of reasons for example any Virus, adware, spyware, malware or any other malicious infection to the PC or temporary Internet files, hardware problem or due to any other reason like mishandling of the PC etc. come what may be the reasons, the slow PC is very aching state for everybody and one and all wants to conquer the crisis ASAP so that a normal and silky PC performance can be achieved.

In general if your computer is slow due to any hardware fault we cannot improve this performance until we replace the affected hardware part. A slow pc can also be accountable for slow browsing issue. I have mentioned here few very imperative factors that may influence your Internet connection very often.

1. Eliminate all the temporary files from your PC-: Temporary Internet files can reason slow computer and slow connection issue for a time. You may clear all these files at one go using windows utility or with the help of any good temp files cleaner that can be found online as a freeware program such as ATF, Cleaner etc

2. An up to date antivirus program is required always-: Virus may damage your PC to a maximum extent and not only is it a likely cause behind slow PC but also affects your Internet connection as well. To stop a virus or spyware attack a firewall can be used and to fix or get rid of a virus an antivirus program is very important. An antivirus not only fixes a virus entry but also takes away spyware, Trojan horse, and any other infection that may damage or affect your PC.

3. Reduce number of allocation programs from your PC-: Go to your control panel and make a list of all unwanted programs. I recommend uninstall the programs that are of no use now in your PC. There may be many programs that are now just extra in the PC. These programs can have an ill effect on your PC’s performance and can terminate your PC standard functionality. Removing these programs in reality enhances routine of the Internet connection.

4. Increase the RAM- Memory and precisely main memory plays a vital role in PC’s all operations. We even cannot imagine a PC without main memory and while windows boots it plays the important part to load the windows into main memory so that it can run. There are many applications in your PC that needs great memory and if they don’t find it, the entire process goes down.

5. Check your Firewall’s settings-: Sometime It is also probable your firewall may obstruct many services, processes that you are opening. Put firewall’s settings in a way you may be confined and can receive greatest speed. Remember if you are using more than one antivirus program in the same time they might be conflicting with each other.

6. Any Hardware fault (Exceptional issue) -: Any hardware for example modem issue, cable you are using to attach your PC or any other hardware error also can reduce the browsing rate.

How to speed up your computer with PC Doctor?

Usually people or more precisely PC users think that if they use a great hardware combination or specification they will achieve a constant PC performance forever. Let me tell you this is merely not the hardware part that decides your PC performance rather a PC is blend of hardware, operating system and application programs that are installed in the PC. Also all these three are the major causes that decide if the PC will be working well all the time without showing any slow PC problem. Unlike a hardware component software (OS and application) is very complex structure and the chances of getting affected are higher in software than in hardware components. Thus apparently the focus should be on an OS and its application programs comparatively.

Broadly we may segregate factors that affect PC performance as follows:-

System RAM- RAM or random access memory or the main memory in any PC is the most important place where all the applications and other system software get loaded and subsequently they run. The memory is constantly needed all the time however the importance of greater memory increases when we run huge applications like any gaming software. Using an additional RAM is the best solution if your PC is running short of main memory. If your memory is not sufficient you will encounter slow PC problem very often.

Operating system and Microprocessor- an OS also affects your PC’s overall speed. For an instance windows vista is comparatively a slower system than windows XP. In windows vista there are many such features that consume more memory and CPU time hence affects the speed. This has been resolved with windows 7 now. Similarly a processor is the most essential part of any PC which process all the applications, services, OS and everything that runs on the machine.

How many software programs you installed- If you have installed too many programs in your PC, they are also going to affect your PC performance for sure. Unwanted programs occupy space in your hard drive and may conflict with each other. Removing the unwanted programs makes sense and it certainly gives some contribution to speed up your PC’s performance.

Visual effects in the PC- visual effect do not help to run any application in the PC but they consume CPU time all the time and resulting in slow speed. By default windows XP windows vista and windows 7 come with preinstalled huge graphics and flashy features. You may lower down these graphics and can enhance your computer’s speed to an extent.

CPU usage- Task manager is the place where you can check the current CPU usage of the system. If CPU usage is very high this means there is something wrong or any particular process keeps running on in the background. Most of the time if your CPU usage is very high this means there are chance of any infection in your PC. It is also possible that a virus may not be visible in task manager but still it keeps on running. If this is the case with your PC you need to eliminate the infection (Virus, spyware, Trojan etc) from your system.

Why is my computer so slow?

This is a very popular and common saying from all PC users today that why is my computer so slow? In truth if any event or issue which occurs in a PC affects PC’s overall performance and subsequently a PC becomes slow. Slow PC trouble can be found due followings reasons below: -

Hardware fault- Hardware is called physical body for any OS that is running on it. If body is missing or damaged we cannot expect a great performance from the overall system. If this is the case with your PC this becomes easy to answer your query that why is my computer so slow.

Operating system related issues- Operating system related issues such as if any system files goes corrupt and system needs that file at any point of time, it won’t be processed properly. This is a common problem with all windows operating system. Usually we perform a repair task with the help of windows original installation CD. There are some windows tools and utilities as well that are of immense use for repairing windows damaged files. Check disk and sfc /scannow are of them.

Computer is slow due to any infection in your PC- Any kind of infections for your PC are another form of death. If you think why is my computer so slow? You need to think and diagnose about any infectious items that may present in your PC. Damage from an infection is countless. A virus infection can freeze all the activities can stop all the essential services in your PC.

Slow due to insufficient memory space-(Hard drive space and main memory space)- Memory is the place where all the programs load and process. If a program is very huge in size it cannot be processed until and unless we have sufficient memory power.

Too many programs installed in your PC- Too many programs are also a sort of danger for all PCS. I have noticed in every PC there are at least 20% of such programs installed that are of no use for PC now or the user does not use them. However these programs always reside in your PC and occupy unneeded space.

Any particular process keep running on in process tree- This usually happens when your PC is infected with any kind of infectivity. There are some viruses that can cause huge damage to the PC, and they also run all the time in process tree. Open you task manager and try to find out if there is any such process that is running all the time. If that is not a system process kill it right there and search the name of the application in your system so that you can remove it completely from your system.

If you are using default or high graphics in your PC- Windows XP onwards Microsoft provides high graphics with every windows version. Using all these graphics and flashy look may reduce system’s performance. You may lower down some of them to boost the PC’s performance.

Speed up my computer

<a href="http://www.linkedtube.com/P9Vh3Hjm35wf79af2e6208773493e854f488b17a076.htm">LinkedTube</a>

Are you fed up of your slow computer problem? Have tried every possible solution? And still a concern arises again and over again how to speed up my computer? For me this is not unusual to hear such concern and over again. Whenever I come across any such situation I abruptly ask to check your hardware compatibility and if the hardware part is sufficient enough to run the operating system and other application software that are running on the hardware. It is because there is no alternative for any hardware fault and we merely have an option to replace the existing and affected hardware.

Apart from this, one of the major concerns if your PC continuously slows is- memory. Memory needs to be sufficient enough to load the application while they run. Though both kinds of memory is necessary essential for each and every computer machine irrespective of any operating system you are running upon it. For windows 7 the random access memory now required is 1GB at least, for vista it used to be 512MB. There is an irony though the minimum required memory for windows vista is 512 yet on 512 of random access memory you may experience many performance related issues. For an instance windows XP can run on 256MB RAM, but when we use just 256MB of RAM the PC goes slow and performance issue arises very often.

On the other hand the secondary or hard drive memory space is also required especially on the drive where your OS is installed. It is said at least 15% of total drive capacity should be free where your OS is installed. Even windows defrag utility works if there is at least 15% space is left blank. Remember certainly windows might have been tested on less memory space drive and it might have been passed but when we use windows with hundreds of programs it can create performance issue. This is why we very often hear the concern how to speed up my computer.

Another aspect of memory issue is virtual memory. Virtual memory also plays an important role to load huge applications that go beyond your random access memory’s capacity. In this situation virtual memory plays the role and loads such huge applications into the memory so that they can be processed. Internally virtual memory uses your hard drive’s space and works as if main memory.

Another important reason behind slow computer can be CPU or processor’s usage. You may easily check your CPU usage from windows task manager which shows all the processes and CPU usage by a particular application. If any particular process is taking greater participation in CPU usage this can be a cause of your PC especially when you are running an application. Thus make sure your CPU usage is fair enough and distributed equally among all the processes that are currently running in the machine.

Slow PC Performance

<a href="http://www.linkedtube.com/LKk6H2NBNqQ7e4ab1989d6ab9e41bd9a09a2d5bdd7f.htm">LinkedTube</a>

In spite of many great inventions and discovery in hardware part of a computer system, the performance or slow PC performance is continued to be a great trouble for most of the PC users. Today huge memory and high processing speed microprocessors are easily available yet we keep on trying to enhance our PC speed very often. In my experience hardware section contributes certainly lesser to reduce a PC’s performance rather system’s corrupted files also affect your PC’s overall performance. I have mentioned some essential points with regards slow PC performance issue.

Hardware fault- As I said before hardware has a very important role in processing of the total system’s performance. If any hardware attached with your PC is damaged or incompatible this can reduce your PC’s overall performance. Replace the affected hardware if you have any.

Not enough Ram - RAM or main memory has its great importance to load the programs while they run. Huge programs require more memory to run. If you have not enough memory to load the programs the PC won’t run on normal or its optimum speed at all. If this is the case with your PC I suggest straightway increase your Ram or add an additional Ram in your PC.

Infection in your PC- there are many kinds of infection present online, and they may attack your PC by any means. The internet is the chief source for getting the malicious programs in. Virus is one of the biggest malicious items in any PC which can damage your whole system completely. Using antivirus, antispyware and firewall programs are the official solution for all kinds of malicious items.

Registry is corrupt- Registry is central database and heart of any windows system. It records all the relevant information pertaining to all the components that have been attached with an OS. If registry is not intact and if it is damaged it creates many problems in your PC including slow performance issue. Repair your registry with the help of any good registry cleaner program.

Too many programs installed in the PC- If you follow a practice of installing a program and using it once or twice and then forget about it, this is the time to uninstall such all programs so that hard disk space can be created and any conflict among the various programs can be avoided.

Reduce visual effects in windows- Windows all OS are very fleshy and full of graphical features. Though it does not help in windows functionality rather consumes CPU usage all the time. If you are more concern about performance I recommend reducing some of its graphical features. It certainly contributes in speeding up windows performance.

Increase your virtual memory size- When windows come across any huge application that goes beyond your RAM memory’s capacity, in this case windows manages and use hard drive’s space to load the heavy programs in this. This is called virtual memory concept. Ideally a virtual memory should be 1.5 times of total Ram size.  Increasing virtual memory would help you increase slow PC speed.
