In spite of many great inventions and discovery in hardware part of a computer system, the performance or slow PC performance is continued to be a great trouble for most of the PC users. Today huge memory and high processing speed microprocessors are easily available yet we keep on trying to enhance our PC speed very often. In my experience hardware section contributes certainly lesser to reduce a PC’s performance rather system’s corrupted files also affect your PC’s overall performance. I have mentioned some essential points with regards slow PC performance issue.

Hardware fault- As I said before hardware has a very important role in processing of the total system’s performance. If any hardware attached with your PC is damaged or incompatible this can reduce your PC’s overall performance. Replace the affected hardware if you have any.

Not enough Ram - RAM or main memory has its great importance to load the programs while they run. Huge programs require more memory to run. If you have not enough memory to load the programs the PC won’t run on normal or its optimum speed at all. If this is the case with your PC I suggest straightway increase your Ram or add an additional Ram in your PC.

Infection in your PC- there are many kinds of infection present online, and they may attack your PC by any means. The internet is the chief source for getting the malicious programs in. Virus is one of the biggest malicious items in any PC which can damage your whole system completely. Using antivirus, antispyware and firewall programs are the official solution for all kinds of malicious items.

Registry is corrupt- Registry is central database and heart of any windows system. It records all the relevant information pertaining to all the components that have been attached with an OS. If registry is not intact and if it is damaged it creates many problems in your PC including slow performance issue. Repair your registry with the help of any good registry cleaner program.

Too many programs installed in the PC- If you follow a practice of installing a program and using it once or twice and then forget about it, this is the time to uninstall such all programs so that hard disk space can be created and any conflict among the various programs can be avoided.

Reduce visual effects in windows- Windows all OS are very fleshy and full of graphical features. Though it does not help in windows functionality rather consumes CPU usage all the time. If you are more concern about performance I recommend reducing some of its graphical features. It certainly contributes in speeding up windows performance.

Increase your virtual memory size- When windows come across any huge application that goes beyond your RAM memory’s capacity, in this case windows manages and use hard drive’s space to load the heavy programs in this. This is called virtual memory concept. Ideally a virtual memory should be 1.5 times of total Ram size.  Increasing virtual memory would help you increase slow PC speed.
