Why is my computer so slow?

This is a very popular and common saying from all PC users today that why is my computer so slow? In truth if any event or issue which occurs in a PC affects PC’s overall performance and subsequently a PC becomes slow. Slow PC trouble can be found due followings reasons below: -

Hardware fault- Hardware is called physical body for any OS that is running on it. If body is missing or damaged we cannot expect a great performance from the overall system. If this is the case with your PC this becomes easy to answer your query that why is my computer so slow.

Operating system related issues- Operating system related issues such as if any system files goes corrupt and system needs that file at any point of time, it won’t be processed properly. This is a common problem with all windows operating system. Usually we perform a repair task with the help of windows original installation CD. There are some windows tools and utilities as well that are of immense use for repairing windows damaged files. Check disk and sfc /scannow are of them.

Computer is slow due to any infection in your PC- Any kind of infections for your PC are another form of death. If you think why is my computer so slow? You need to think and diagnose about any infectious items that may present in your PC. Damage from an infection is countless. A virus infection can freeze all the activities can stop all the essential services in your PC.

Slow due to insufficient memory space-(Hard drive space and main memory space)- Memory is the place where all the programs load and process. If a program is very huge in size it cannot be processed until and unless we have sufficient memory power.

Too many programs installed in your PC- Too many programs are also a sort of danger for all PCS. I have noticed in every PC there are at least 20% of such programs installed that are of no use for PC now or the user does not use them. However these programs always reside in your PC and occupy unneeded space.

Any particular process keep running on in process tree- This usually happens when your PC is infected with any kind of infectivity. There are some viruses that can cause huge damage to the PC, and they also run all the time in process tree. Open you task manager and try to find out if there is any such process that is running all the time. If that is not a system process kill it right there and search the name of the application in your system so that you can remove it completely from your system.

If you are using default or high graphics in your PC- Windows XP onwards Microsoft provides high graphics with every windows version. Using all these graphics and flashy look may reduce system’s performance. You may lower down some of them to boost the PC’s performance.
